Product Engineer
Hey! We're Ben and Madeline and we're building Vega. It's the easiest way to get set up with someone great (a partner, a new hire, a roommate, etc). We believe magic is other people.
We're a small, fast-growing team in NYC, backed by a16z Speedrun, Pear VC, and Neo. We've previously built products at Uber, Jane Street, and Pear VC.
We love to work hard, with a high degree of autonomy, craft, creativity, and ownership. We work together in person in NYC.
About the role
We are looking for exceptional product builders to elevate the Vega mobile app. We are a product-led, user-obsessed company. Our goal is to craft a product that feels intentional and distinctly human.
What you'll do
- Make design decisions and ship features end-to-end in our React Native app
- Move between Figma, code, and user feedback in the same day
- Obsess over animations, latency, copy, and the feel of a tap
You might be a fit if you
- Have shipped consumer products in React Native (projects matter more than years)
- Have strong opinions about which apps on your home screen earned their spot
- DM users, read every support ticket, and know your top 10 power users by name
- Care deeply about the future of relationships
- Are high agency and want to work in person in NYC
We don't care about years of experience, where you went to school, or whether you've had the title before. Show us what you've built and why it matters to you.
Compensation
$140k–$175k base + meaningful equity, depending on experience.
